Travel Week - A Whole New World

Yr 3 Travel Week AssemblyTravel Week was an exciting opportunity for the children to transform their individual classrooms into a country and to expand their global knowledge and language skills.  The school was buzzing all week with unusual activities. Each child had a passport and entered school through passport control.  They hosted events in their classroom countries - China, Holland, India, South Africa, Zambia, France, The USA, Italy and Australia. They shared knowledge across the age groups from 3-11.  Year 5 joined the Pre-School to help them build Chinese paper dragons and the Reception class made windmills in Old Amsterdam.  Parents were invited to an assembly at the end of the week and watched performances from each country.  The week was such a success with the children, teachers and parents that we plan to make Travel Week 2018 even more eventful and adventurous.

Shakespeare Assembly 20th January

Well done to Year 5 who entertained and informed us with a fabulous assembly on Shakespeare and A Midsummer Night's Dream this morning.

Dear Parents

School is open today.  Please take care on the roads and down the drive.  Make sure the children have warm clothing.

Thank you

Adverse Weather Conditions

Dear Parents

I am sure you are aware of the severe weather warnings that have been given out on the news over the past few days.

Looking at today's weather forecast it looks as though we may have a heavy snow fall at 5.00pm, in the middle of rush hour. Therefore, there will be no after-school clubs this evening.  Junior children with Infant siblings may be collected at 3:20pm. All other Junior children may be collected at 3:50pm.  This should avoid any chaos in our car park and should ensure that you are home before the worst of the weather begins. If you are unable to collect your children at either of these times, After School Club will still continue until you are able to get to school.

It is my intention to keep the school open tomorrow but please keep an eye on the News in the Park section of our website and on our Twitter account and only travel if it is safe to do so. Please can you ensure that your children have appropriate clothing in school such as hats, gloves, coats and appropriate footwear.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Your sincerely

Douglas Brown
